Our Legacy
Over six decades of nurturing minds and building futures in the heart of Pokhara.
A Soldier’s Vision for Education
Shree Amarsingh Model Higher Secondary School (AMHSS) was opened with funds collected from the Post-War Reconstruction Fund established after the World Wars, as the Soldier’s Board Vocational Training High School, on March 26, 1957.
Ten years later, on September 14, 1966, it was handed over to the Government of Nepal and renamed to its present name — the beginning of a chapter in which quality education became accessible to all children of Pokhara and beyond.
Braille medium (1981 A.D.), English medium (1985 A.D.) and the Plus-two stream (1999 A.D.) are the sections of this institution. The plus-two level is affiliated to the National Examinations Board (formerly HSEB), while the school level runs under the Government of Nepal.
